You have an enemy. He is a spiritual being known as Satan or the Devil. And he's not alone. He is the leader of the forces of darkness. His one goal is to hurt God by deceiving God's children so that you will question the goodness of God so that you will sin against God. In this message, we consider how to fight against the deception from the Devil.

When things are going really good and we get really full of ourselves, Satan gets to work. He uses our pride against us to destroy us because "Pride goes before the fall." In 1 Chronicles 21, Satan rose up against King David and used his pride against him, which resulted in the death of 70,000 people. Your pride may not cause anyone to die, but it can be just as costly and destructive.
The Accuser

The scene in Zechariah 3 was a courtroom. God was the judge, Joshua the high priest was on trial, and Satan was the prosecutor. He was accusing God's high priest with sinful charges, and Joshua (and Israel also) was guilty as charged. Satan is our accuser, but Jesus is our advocate.
