It was time for the Feast of Tabernacles and Jesus went to Jerusalem to the temple where the priests and a crowd were participating in a water-pouring ceremony. This ceremony was a prayer and plea for God to send rain so they could have water to continue to live. It was also a reminder of how God provided water for Israel in the past. During this ceremony Jesus stood up and said, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink." It was a powerful statement. A beautiful invitation.
